Note: Please note that all the vowels in the dialect of Bari and non-accented (or tonic) do not pronounce it, especially the final ones. The vowel "e" is used in writing, per far “consuonare” appunto la consonante che la precede, altrimenti spesso ci troveremmo di fronte ad un rincorrersi di consonanti.
Palese-Macchie, di cui questa versione testimonia l'originale parlata, si trova ad una decina di chilometri a Nord-Ovest di Bari, sulla costa adriatica. Questa zona possiede un patrimonio storico-culturale, artistico e naturale espressione di un'antica vita - quella rurale - finora non sufficientemente valorizzata. Esso è stato anche oggetto di studio da parte di alcuni ricercatori, come Gianni Serena, risultando alquanto ricco e variegato: testimonianze di insediamenti preistorici (Neolitico, Età del Bronzo, Età del Ferro), edicole confinarie del Cinquecento, chiese rurali e rupestri, un'antica via dell'olio che costeggiava trappeti ipogei, torri secentesche, masserie e palmenti settecenteschi, paliare a forma di trullo; una chiesa del XIX secolo in stile neoclassico (purtroppo abbattuta), ville e palazzi ottocenteschi e novecenteschi. Un patrimonio purtroppo spesso abbandonato al degrado e all'incuria (come le tante masserie), oppure gravemente danneggiato dall'intervento dell'uomo (si pensi alla demolizione di Torre di Brencola, al crollo della chiesa rupestre di S. Angelo di Camerata causato da una vicina cava, agli insediamenti preclassici andati per sempre perduti). L'unica zona ancora conservatasi rimane quella della Lama Balice, recentemente trasformata in Parco regionale. Un territorio in ogni caso splendido, che merita to be visited and known.

Along shores clear of anything I start, or places where the desert splendor, where the pebble / it consumes more and / blinded by silence.
